George retiring from TOURING


George Strait, announced the other day that he is set to embark on a two-year tour that will, he says, be his last.  The Cowboy Rides Away tour will kick off January, 18th, 2013, and is set to run through 2014.  Martina McBride will join him on tour.  George STRESSES that he IS NOT retiring, and as long as his record label, Universal Music Group, wants him to record, he will keep making new music.  George, plans to begin work on his next album in October.

Reba passing the Mic



Reba McEntire, is retiring from her role as HOST of the ACM's.  Reba says it's time for her to move on.  She's passed the torch to her friend, Blake Shelton.

Faith Hill making history


Faith Hill is the first country artist to debut a single via social networking.  Hear a snipped of Faith's new tune "American Heart" on her Twitter page.  She will debut the whole song on Twitter on Sunday.  Faith will also chat live on Sunday at 7pm via Twitter.

Keith Urban- American Idol



It's OFFICIAL......Country's own, Keith Urban, will be a judge on Season 12 of American Idol which doesn't debut until January 2013.  Keith Urban, will join longtime judge Randy Jackson and new other additions Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.  Keith Urban, is reportedly making $6 Million for his role on Idol.

Taylor Stands up to Cancer




Taylor Swift performed at the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon last week. Taylor sang, “Ronan” which was written for a four year old boy who passed away last year from neuroblastoma. The song is available on iTunes now and all proceeds go to fight cancer.
Tim McGraw performed “Lived Like You Were Dying" on the telethon.

Lady Antebellum Christmas Album


Lady Antebellum have announced they have a new Christmas Album coming out.  The album is titled 'On this Winter's night' and will be released on October 22nd.

Two years ago Lady A released their first Christmas album, 'A Merry Little Christmas'.  It only had 6 tracks.  Their new Christmas album will have 12 tracks.

Sugarland sings 'Baby Girl' with St. Jude Patient Avery




Sugarland, made the day for a special 'Baby Girl'.  During a tour stop in MN, the duo invited 4-year-old cancer patient, Avery and her Mother to join them on stage.  Sugarland, gave big props to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which has helped the young fan exceed medical expectations at no cost to her family.

Kellie Pickler Shaves her golden locks


Kellie Pickler's best friend, Summer Holt Miller was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this summer.  She starts chemo Thursday.  Kellie wanted to show her support and of course take a stance on cancer.
